The Little Family Behind CCB

Just to warn you, I haven't posted in like, 2 weeks...
so I'm pretty much showing and telling
what I've been up to in my personal life
(which I don't normally do).
so it's a longer post than usual -
But if you don't mind getting
to know me a little better,
here we go!

I haven't been out junkin' in sooo long it's ridiculous.
Not only are we on a super tight budget,
we've just been pretty busy with life.
Our girls both had their Scholarship auditions at dance.
Of course they had to be on different nights
so that meant two nights at the dance studio -
three hours at Grace's and four hours at Macy's!

(What a Mom won't do for her kids, ya' know?!)

That doesn't even include preparing for the auditions -
the trips to the dance store for new dance shoes,
(and the rosin and knee pads they'll NEVER use! Don't think I'm not taking them back!)
But they love it so it's all worth it - just look at these faces!

Little Miss Grace

 My Macy girl

 Grace got "Fantastic Free Style"

Macy got "Terrific Tap Outfit"

Here they both are at the Scholarship Party.
This was an additional day - whew!  Again, worth it.
Macy is now in Sophomore Scholarship and
Grace is in Freshmen Scholarship.

Then, our little man, Jack, turned 2
(on Back to School Night of course).
Well, since he's the SwEeTeSt boy EVER...
We still had to do something special actually ON his birthday...

I told you we are on a budget, so after the girls' Back to School Night,
we headed over to 31 Flavors for Jack's FREE ice cream cone...
(his FIRST one by the way!)

I think our little monkey really enjoyed his ice cream cone!

And what kind of parents would we be
if we didn't get the girls their own too!

Now that's one big, happy family!

Speaking of a big family,
my Husband comes from a pretty big family
and they're always having some sort of a party.
This one was for cousin Brett,
his 40th birthday to be exact.

But you won't see poor Brett in any of these pictures,
we were too busy taking pictures of ourselves I guess!
You'll see him later at ANOTHER 40th birthday.
This is me and my Husband,
my FNL and my BFF/SNL.

 Aren't they just the cutest?
I can never just refer to Tina as my sister-in-law.
That's because we've been best friends
for 31 years!

Here are cousins Melissa and Tiffany, sisters if you can't tell.
Brett's sisters in fact but I guess he didn't make it
in that picture either, poor Brett.

OK, here's Brett, finally!
But this is from Jeff's 40th birthday party, sorry cousin.
(Brett, Scott, Jeff and Wayne, my Husband)
funny...I don't think I've ever mentioned my Husband's name here!
Anyway, these guys have been friends since they were kids
and they had so much fun that night.
I love seeing my Husband and his friends
reminisce and laugh about the old days.
Boy do they have some stories -
and I won't be telling any of them here!

My Husband and I have known each other for over 30 years
but only married for 3 1/2.
If you don't know our story already,
you can check out my other blog (One Blessed Mommie)

Well, I guess that's it for now with the family stuff.

As for Chateau Chic Boutique....

And I'm getting ready for a great sale at
Chateau de Fleurs - September 17th & 18th.

I would guess you all know the super talented Christie Repasy.
Check out her blog here.
Christie and her SNL, Rita Reade of Mammabellarte, host
a FabUlouS sale every 3 months in Fallbrook, CA
and I'm soooo excited to be a part of it!

Am I ready yet?  Of course not...
I seem to work better under pressure for some reason.
So, there's gonna be some long days and late nights until then.
I'm so grateful my Husand will be helping me -
I know I've already told you all how AWESOME he is,
but it is oh so true!

I know this next week is gonna be so hectic and crazy.
(Did I mention the girls start school this Tuesday?)
But every girl needs a junkin' break, right?
Even if I have no money to spend...
there's nothing like a long day out junkin' with a girlfriend.
And of course I'll be with my dear, sweet friend, Margaret!
We're heading out to Orange County tomorrow morning
and we're gonna hit as many Goodwills as we can stand.
We'll hit our usual spots at the Orange Circle...
Tea Leaf Cottage and Country Roads and everything in between!

Hopefully, I'll have time for more posting before the show!
In the meantime, I pray you all have a great week!

Sincere Blessings,

Missy

  3. Hi Missy,
I appreciate your comment so much and I can't believe your story--or how the Lord brought you such a wonderful husband. I am overwhelmed by what you have been through and your amazing spirit.

I wanted to tell you that I have the Creative Spirit Challenge going on at my Whimsical Musings blog and you're welcome to link something up--it can be anything! (Doesn't have to be new--this is for fun!)

God bless you and your beautiful family,
    Love,
    Cindy

  4. Gorgeous family Ü You are truley blessed :o)

Thanks for visiting me over at Pittypat Paperie and leaving the nice comment about my printing on fabric.

You asked about how to adhere the fabric to the paper. I just peel the back off an 8½x11 sheet of paper and lay it onto my canvas or muslin fabric. cut the fabric to the exact size of the paper with no threads hanging onver that might get caught in your printer. Let me know how it works for you.
